Grouting, Not Knitting

There's been limited knitting time lately. The only knitting to report is that I'm done with my first Jaywalker, onto the second... I've only been knitting them since March!

Here's what's been taking so much time:

We've been tiling the shower in our upstairs bathroom. The bathroom project has been ongoing for about one year. Plumber problems, backordered parts, took last summer off because who wants to tile in the summer, etc, etc. We have the floor, walls, toilet and sink done. The shower is the last thing! This was two weeks ago, marathon tiling weekend and we just about got it done. The blue tape is to hold the tiles in place so they don't slide down the walls before the thinset dries.
Oh, the joys of tiling on a vertical surface.
But wait, once the tiling is done, it's onto grouting.

Here's what it looks like today. The grouting is about 1/3 done. You can see the difference it makes having the white grout between the tiles. Again, grouting on a vertical surface makes for quite a mess.

This is what I decided to make instead of putting a bullnose tile along the edge. It's all seaglass that Howie and I have collected (one of our favorite pastimes). The light green/blue color is actually my inspiration for the color in the bathroom. "I want a sea glass colored bathroom." Howie just went with my mental image of a sea glass bathroom.
This took about two days to complete. I had to lay out a whole tray of seaglass then find the right color and shape as I went along. No seaglass was cut in making this edge.

Of course, Moebius always stays close and gets in position outside the bathroom door while we work.

Hopefully this never ending project will be done soon so I can get back to knitting in my free time. Either that or maybe we'll take a long car trip so there's no other option but to knit.
