1. I am the youngest of five children.
  2. My oldest sister, who was 5 years older than me, died in 1997.
  3. My family hasn't been the same since.
  4. My other sister is just one year older than me.
  5. When we were kids, we were called "The Little Girls".
  6. When we were in our twenties, we went on a six month trip across the United States and Canada. She still wishes we had taken the time to drive to Alaska.
  7. I grew up in Massachusetts and have lived almost my whole adult life in Maine.
  8. I can't imagine living in Mass. again.
  9. I'm married to the sweetest man, Howie.
  10. We both were married before but those marriages didn't stick.
  11. I'm sure this one will.
  12. We arrived at our wedding in kayaks. None of the guests knew, so their backs were turned as we approached. Finally someone recognized us before we landed.
  13. We spent our honeymoon kayaking and camping in Alaska. I think it was the most romantic thing we could have done.
  14. My sister is upset because I got to Alaska before she did.
  15. I quit my job and went back to school at 39 to become a Physician Assistant.
  16. I met Howie on a blind date.
  17. I met my first husband in a bar.
  18. Howie proposed on the beach where we were later married. It's also where my sister's ashes were thrown into the ocean.
  19. I have to have my coffee every morning, preferably a latte.
  20. We have a dog from the shelter named Moebius. Howie (the math and computer guy) named him.
  21. I like the name but I usually call him Puppy Dog, because he's still a puppy at 4 years old.
  22. We live in the woods on a dead-end road.
  23. The only kind of ice cream worth eating is coffee.
  24. I prefer salty-crunchy to sweet.
  25. I just learned to SCUBA dive this year.
  26. Howie taught me.
  27. I was raised Catholic but haven't been to mass in years.
  28. Howie is Jewish so we celebrate both christian and Jewish holidays.
  29. I like getting a present each day for eight days but sometimes it's hard to wait.
  30. This year we made it to day five and then opened all the rest.
  31. Howie is my tech support guy for all things computerized.
  32. My sister and I look at things at craft fairs and say "I Can Do That". Then we go home and make our own.
  33. We thought that would be a great name for a TV show - "I Can Do That".
  34. I'm the "Doer" and Howie is the "Dreamer".
  35. We own a 2004 Toyota Prius and put 25,000 miles on it before it was one year old.
  36. We took the car on a road (and ferry) trip to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland when it was about three weeks old.
  37. Newfoundland is really far away.
  38. I knit a sweater for Howie during the trip. He calls it his 3,600 mile sweater.
  39. My vision is 20/300. That means I can't see the big E on the eye chart.
  40. For the first time ever, I have two pairs of glasses. One wire rimmed and one square, black rimmed.
  41. I picked about 12 quarts of blueberries in my backyard this summer. I used a blueberry rake for the first time.
  42. We joined a CSA this year and had more organic vegetables than we could eat. We're definitely in for next year.
  43. I saw the Grateful Dead for the first time at my college in 1983.
  44. I saw them at least 40 times before Jerry died.
  45. I made a deal with myself that I would learn how to spin this year.
  46. I learned to knit in 1990 because I like to wear sweaters.
  47. The first thing I knit was a Lopi Icelandic sweater. Nobody told me that was a difficult project for a beginner.
  48. I still own the sweater but don't wear it anymore.
  49. I don't have any idea how many items I've knit over the years but I am going to try to figure it out somewhere on this blog.
  50. Howie and I decided to glue hundreds of action figures to the hood of his old SUV. It wouldn't pass inspection so we had to pull them all off.
  51. It was fun driving around having people take pictures of us from their cars.
  52. The truck is still not inspected.
  53. My feet and hands are always cold.
  54. I sleep with socks on in the summer.
  55. I don't like diamonds, especially diamond rings.
  56. Howie gave me a necklace for an engagement present.
  57. I've been in a bookgroup with the same five women for eight years. Nobody else is allowed to join. We all have bad memories of a bookgroup gone out of control.
  58. I roast my own coffee.
  59. My favorite time to go to the beach is in the winter.
  60. I'm left handed, but play sports right handed.
  61. I need absolute silence to sleep.
  62. Coming up with 100 things about me is difficult.
  63. I'm afraid of heights but learned to rock climb just to see if I could.
  64. I have a thing for shoes.
  65. and sweaters.
  66. oh, and yarn.
  67. Howie is way more organized than I am. He's constantly organizing and rearranging my stuff.
  68. He likes to sell my stuff on eBay just to get it out of the house.
  69. I love to cook. All sorts of food.
  70. I like to read cookbooks cover to cover.
  71. I can't sing but love to sing really loud in the car.
  72. I like to shovel snow and hate to mow the lawn.
  73. I think the lawn mowing thing stems from the fact that growing up we had a pair of "lawn mowing" sneakers that we all had to wear when it was our turn to mow the lawn. Being the youngest, they were about 5 sizes too big for me. And they were neon green. And my friends might see me.
  74. I switched from PC to Mac two years ago and love it.
  75. I'm a cribbage player from way back. My father taught me when I was a kid.
  76. We played so much cards as kids, I learned to count: 9, 10, Jack, Queen...
  77. I still love playing cards, especially poker.
  78. I can't play Monopoly anymore because of the games that ended in fights as kids.
  79. I can't stand to be tickled because my brother used to hold me down and tickle me until I cried. He was a terrible brother as a kid but is a wonderful brother as an adult.
  80. His antics as a kid make for great family stories. He denies every one.
  81. My parents are still happily married. They'll be celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2007.
  82. Sometimes I'm embarassed to be an American because of George Bush and his administration.
  83. Our next big purchase for the house is going to be a hot tub for out on the deck.
  84. We compost but we don't have a garden.
  85. My favorite food of all time is lobster.
  86. I guess I live in the right place for lobster consumption.
  87. Howie buys me lobster every year for Valentine's Day (I told you he was the sweetest).
  88. My first car was a VW Rabbit, light blue. With a sun roof. That leaked. I loved that car.
  89. When I was a kid we had a VW bug, and my sister and I had to ride in the little grocery compartment behind the back seat. Our heads would hit the back window every time we went over a bump.
  90. I got my first brand new bike for Christmas when I was in sixth grade. Then my brother (not the tickling one) drove it into a parked car and wrecked it.
  91. I got my next new bike when I was in ninth grade.
  92. I have never colored or permed my hair. It's now going grey and that's ok with me.
  93. I have two tattoos. The first one I got when I was in Hawaaii in 1989. The second one is a replica of a piece of art my oldest sister made before she died. I like the second one better.
  94. I collect heart-shaped beach rocks.
  95. I get grumpy when I am either: hungry, tired, cold, or have to pee.
  96. It's really bad when I am two or more of the above.
  97. The only time I wear makeup is on Halloween.
  98. I never wear perfume; I can't stand smelly things.
  99. I work in a doctor's office and hate going to the doctor for myself.
  100. I never thought I'd make it to number 100.
